Seniors' Union

The Seniors' Union of the CDU Germany was founded on 20 April 1988 in Bonn as the youngest association of the CDU Germany.

The organisation of the Seniors' Union corresponds to that of the CDU. It has almost 360 district associations throughout Germany. Of the more than 54,000 paying members, around 52 per cent are also members of the CDU. Anyone over the age of 60 can join the Seniors' Union. CDU membership is not required.

CDU members over the age of 60 are not automatically members of the Seniors' Union, but must join the Seniors' Union independently if they wish to become members. The federal office of the Seniors' Union is located in the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus, the CDU headquarters in Berlin-Tiergarten. The Seniors' Union is represented at European level in the European Seniors' Union (ESU).
