At the most recent main committee meeting, we were informed in detail about the current reorganisation measures of the district police. In attendance were both the district administrator, Katharina Reinhold, and representatives of the District police Rhein-Kreis Neuss, who answered our questions transparently and comprehensively.
The key finding: the police presence in Meerbusch will remain unrestricted and available around the clock (24/7).
The planned organisational changes are understandable from our point of view. In future, the police will be based in Kaarst. This will make the patrol service more flexible - without any disadvantages for the safety or care of the residents of Meerbusst.
The operating times remain unchanged and may even improve further thanks to the new structure. The new process is initially Trial operation for a period of three months planned. Once this test phase has been completed, the district administrator will provide information on the results and carry out a corresponding evaluation.
For Meerbusch, this means that the police remain present at all times, operational readiness is strengthened and local security is further increased.
Our conclusion: Meerbusch remains safe - today and in the future.
