Constituent council meeting: We for you on the council

Konstituierende Ratssitzung: Wir für Sie im Rat

With its constituent meeting, the newly elected city council has begun its work for the 2025-2030 legislative period. For the CDU Meerbusch, this start is an important moment, as it marks the beginning of a new phase of political responsibility in which we want to continue to shape our city reliably, constructively and with clear goals.

In his inaugural speech for his second term of office, Mayor Christian Bommers impressively called for respectful, objective and solution-orientated cooperation in the city council. In particular, he emphasised the principle of „issues before party or faction“ - a guiding principle that we as the CDU parliamentary group also expressly support. Politics thrives on taking different points of view seriously, listening and making viable decisions together.

We have major tasks ahead of us: the expansion of a sustainable infrastructure, the further development of our educational landscape, the strengthening of social cohesion and sustainable urban development, in which environmental and climate protection are naturally taken into account. This also includes strong local companies and an administration that remains citizen-centred and efficient.

All of this can only be achieved together. Politics, administration, citizens, associations, institutions and companies - they all play their part in ensuring that Meerbusch remains liveable and lovable.

The CDU Meerbusch is pursuing this path with a clear ambition: responsibly, constructively and with the firm will to move our city forward. We look forward to working together in the coming years and thank all those who support us on this path.
