At our closed meeting at the beginning of January, we took an in-depth look at the budget for 2026. The aim was to identify potential savings and prioritise responsibly.
We have recognised savings potential in various areas. Our principle is What is not absolutely necessary should be postponed for the time being.
For example, we would like to postpone new purchases for the building yard. We are convinced that the existing vehicles and equipment can still be used reliably for a while with good maintenance measures.
When it comes to refurbishment and maintenance measures, we also scrutinise exactly what is actually necessary and what can wait. By taking such a responsible approach, we can make a tangible contribution to consolidating the budget.
Another point is the deployment of staff in the indoor pool. We would like to have a joint pool of employees with the City of Düsseldorf examined. This will create efficiency and at the same time ensure the quality of our services and opening hours.
We are sending out a clear signal with these measures: We are shaping the 2026 budget prudently, sustainably and with a focus on the essentials.
