Reorganisation of the district police - what does this mean for Meerbusch?
The district police are being reorganised as part of a pilot project. Many citizens are asking themselves: will this change anything for Meerbusch?
According to the current status:
✔️ The regular patrol service remains visible and present in Meerbusch.
✔️ The 24/7 police presence remains unchanged at the Büderich location on Hohlbeinstraße.
✔️ Operational readiness, response times and local contacts should not change.
One change concerns the organisation:
The head of the service group is moving from Meerbusch to Kaarst. In addition, the law enforcement division will be based in Kaarst in future. The patrol officers will start their daily duties from there and travel to the Meerbusch urban area.
These are the current plans of District Administrator Katharina Reinhold.
Nevertheless, the central question remains:
Will this reorganisation have an impact on Meerbusch?
We will discuss this critical issue in the main committee on 19 February 2026 to the district administrator and the district police. Come along and ask your questions! You are cordially invited.
Your safety is our top priority!
