Being mayor of the town of Meerbusch is a fascinating job. Meerbusch is my home town, so the well-being of this town and the people who live here is a matter close to my heart. As a political newcomer, I took up the challenge of becoming Meerbusch's \"first citizen\" almost five years ago. I'm happy to admit that I didn't realise the full complexity of what I would be facing at the time. But I was gripped by the task from day one. Never before had I experienced my daily work as so meaningful<\/strong> and meaningful experience. This has mobilised forces: Together with the administration, politicians and committed citizens, we have laid important foundations to make Meerbusch fit for the future.<\/p>

One of my central concerns was and is to noticeably improve the conditions for the education of our children and young people in Meerbusch. As a guideline and basis for this, we have developed a comprehensive School development concept<\/strong> on the way. This includes a strong investment programme for modern, future-oriented schools. What is important here is that we are not just investing in buildings, but in opportunities and prospects - for the next generation.<\/p>

I would like people to feel safe in Meerbusch<\/strong>. That doesn't happen by itself. The construction of the new central Meerbus fire and rescue station has been decided, as has the new equipment centre in Osterath. At the same time, I have increased the number of staff in our municipal public order service - the employees are present in the cityscape and increase the feeling of safety in everyday life. We work closely with the district police authority.<\/p>

IIm area Culture and local history<\/strong> we were able to move a long-stalled issue forward: Our city council unanimously passed the resolution to initiate the future use of the Haus Meer site - an important step towards revitalising a place that gives Meerbusch its identity.<\/p>

In Meerbusch, too, we need more affordable housing<\/strong> This is one of the most pressing challenges in our growing city. With the planned housing co-operative with municipal participation, we are sending a clear signal: housing must not be a luxury! We are also working on innovative housing projects - for example in Osterather Kalverdonk or in the \"B\u00f6hlerLeben\" area on the southern border of B\u00fcderich. It is very important to me that we continue to develop Meerbusch with sustainable building concepts, but also in a sustainable and careful manner. Nature and climate protection<\/strong> must always be considered as an interface topic!<\/p>

The Local supply<\/strong> in the city's neighbourhoods remains an important task to which I, as mayor, pay particular attention. I am also disappointed that we have not yet succeeded in doing this in Lank in particular in recent years. It therefore remains a goal of our efforts to strengthen the shopping facilities for everyday needs, particularly in Lank and Str\u00fcmp - conveniently and without long journeys. People in the Rheingemeinden and Ossum-B\u00f6singhoven should also benefit from this.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the Transport sector<\/strong> Together, we are pressing ahead with key infrastructure projects: as we all know, the removal of the railway crossings in Osterath is a real project of the century. The crossing at Haus Meer, which is highly sensitive for car, bus and rail traffic, needs new solutions, and the conversion of the junction will become unavoidable as road and rail traffic increases. Local public transport costs a lot of money. That is why we need fair financing models, and desirable further increases in frequency must no longer be at the expense of local authorities alone. My demand is therefore clear: mobility must be reliable, attractive and affordable for everyone. In addition to this, I am campaigning for the establishment of a Citizens' Bus Association<\/strong>to make it easier to reach more remote parts of the city - uncomplicated, citizen-centred and flexible. Do you enjoy cycling? I would like to help make cycling in Meerbusch even safer and therefore more attractive. To do this, we need to systematically expand the cycle path network. This is the only way we can make progress towards the mobility transition.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Our municipal educational and cultural institutions<\/strong> such as the music school, adult education centre and municipal library are vibrant centres of learning and togetherness. They do a great job - and we will continue to actively support them in the future. Here, but also in the administration as a whole, the increasing Digitisation<\/strong> The role we play in our work and citizen services is important and must be further expanded.<\/p>

I am particularly proud of the strong Club life<\/strong> in Meerbusch: Whether sport, culture or customs - our clubs connect generations, promote community and create identity. This voluntary commitment deserves not only recognition, but also concrete support - and that is exactly what I am committed to doing.<\/p>

All of this is just a small part of what we have initiated in recent years - and there is still a lot to do. I am ready to do my utmost Energy<\/strong> to continue working for our city. For a future worth living. For a Meerbusch that sticks together, acts with foresight and creates opportunities for everyone.<\/p>

For me, commitment is not just lip service, but an everyday reality. I have been a member of the Meerbusch volunteer fire brigade since my youth - an honorary position that demands responsibility, cohesion and reliability. As a former president of the Osterath Home and Shooting Association and a member of the Council of Honour since 2021, I am passionate about Rhenish customs and know how important traditions are for the social cohesion of a town.<\/p>

My understanding of Christian values forms the foundation of my actions - characterised by charity, tolerance and a firm belief in the power of community.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
